Randy Baxter (drums) and I recorded this in January, 2023 as a tribute to legendary guitarist Jeff Beck (1944-2023). Beck's Bolero was recorded in 1966, while Beck was still a member of the Yardbirds. The song was recorded at a "secret" recording session because the musicians included drummer Keith Moon of The Who, who was unhappy at that time with his other job. Jimmy Page was invited to play electric twelve-string guitar, and session pros John Paul Jones (bass) and Nicky Hopkins (piano) also joined in. Initially released in 1967 as the b-side for Beck's first single as a solo artist, it was later released in 1968 on "Truth," Jeff Beck's first solo album. The song has been described as "one of the great rock instrumentals, epic in scope, harmonically and rhythmically ambitious yet infused with primal energy".
